These are two microphone/line preamplifier modules with HP/LP Filters and parametric equalizer
from Studer 900 Series mixing console, mounted in a proprietary high quality custom 19” / 2RU metal case.
No time, efforts or money was spared designing and building this case.
These are high quality modules (Studer part number 1.912.222) engineered to highest standards of analogue equipment.
Studer used the best components in these modules (consoles) – Preh conductive plastic rotary potentiometers, ITT Shadow switches,
WIMA and Philips capacitors, Studer transformers.
The modules were fully serviced, tested and working great.
The sound of this box is simply spectacular to say the least!
We added a transformer balanced output stage utilizing Lundahl LL1517 transformer (the modules are not fitted with balanced outputs)
and replaced the front panel with a new one.
The power supply is oversized, heavy-duty with toroidal transformer.
All XLR connectors are Neutrik.
The microphone preamplifier stage is fully discrete, transformer balanced with nine-position selector switch
in 10 dB steps ranging from –60 to +20dB.
An additional continuously variable gain from 0 to 12dB is provided.
Phase reverse and +48V phantom power supply with toggle switches and LED indicators are fitted.
The line input is transformer balanced as well.
These modules employ very sophisticated parametric equalizer with Hp/LP filters.
High Pass/Low Pass filters are with Butterworth characteristics and 12dB slope.
Frequency range is continuously variable from 30 to 330Hz (for the HPF) and (700 to 22kHz) for the LPF.
LED indicator is ON if either or both filters are engaged.
The high frequency equalizer is boosting/cutting (+/-) 15dB from 700 to 15kHz. Characteristic is switchable from “peaking” to “shelving”.
The Q factor for of peaking curve is 1.
The high mid frequency equalizer is boosting/cutting (+/-) 15dB from 400 to 7kHz. The Q factor is 1 / 1.3.
The low mid frequency equalizer is boosting/cutting (+/-) 15dB from 120 to 2kHz. The Q factor is 1 / 1.3.
The low frequency equalizer is boosting/cutting (+/-) 15dB from 30 to 600Hz. Characteristic is switchable from “peaking” to “shelving”.
The Q factor for of peaking curve is 1.
Equalizer “IN” switch engages the EQ section of the module.
The fader controls the output level the preamplifier.
The power supply is switchable between 117VAC/60Hz and 230VAC/50Hz.
