This is an authentic, extremely rare Richard M. Nixon Presidential Star with Wood & Brass Base, Original Box and Presidential Gift Card, presented to key staff and supporters after his
successful
re-election in 1972. It is identical to one created by Steuben and gifted from Walter Annenberg that rested on Nixon's Oval Office Desk in the White House. Nixon appreciated it so much, he commissioned the replicas for key aides and supporters in November 1972.  Measuring approx. 7.0" x 5.5" when resting on its base, the
Lucite
star is emblazoned with the Presidential Seal. The wooden base features a brass plaque on the back that reads WITH DEEP APPRECIATION NOVEMBER 1972 and is engraved with Nixon's iconic signature. The Presidential Star is in excellent vintage condition, with no chips, cracks, scratches, or blemishes of any kind. It is accompanied by the original cream-colored box with purple velvet inserts and Presidential gift card bearing Nixon's signature. The box shows wear consistent with age and use, and has foxing/discoloring on the box exterior and contact wear on areas inside the box. Finding a star in such excellent condition with the original Presidential card and box is exceedingly rare. Directly from the Oval Office, this is a rare opportunity to own a very unique memento of the Nixon Administration and a stunning piece of Presidential history. All photos were taken without flash.
