    Invitation from the Hoover Administration to attend festivities at the White House on 13 October 1932, shortly before Hoover left office and in the thick of the Great Depression. Invitation with gold embossed Presidential seal reads in engraved script, ''The President and Mrs. Hoover request the pleasure of the company of Justice and Mrs. Luhring at a reception to be held at The White House Thursday evening…'' With original mailing envelope, also with gold Presidential seal. Measures 5.5'' x 4.75''. Toning, otherwise fine.
