1968 Chevelle SS 396 375 L78 4 Bolt Main Short Block Super Sport 68 Camaro Nova
This is a 1968 Chevelle & El Camino SS 396/375 L78 4 bolt main short block (will also work for Camaro and Nova) dated B268 (February 26, 1968). The stamp pad still had the original broach marks and assembly stamp, but the VIN stamp must have been stamped at an angle so that all you can see is the lower edge of the stamp. The assembly stamp is T0229EG (Built in Tonawanda on February 29th for special high performance cars with A.I.R. and 4 speed manual). The 3935440 block has TRW .030 over L2240N (4.124) forged pistons, forged original 3/8" dimple rods and has a 3856223
cross drilled steel crankshaft
that I believe is also nitrided. Reciprocating assembly has been balanced. The 3935440 block was also used in early 1969. Selling as a core, but I believe it just needs rings and bearings. There is little to no ridge in the cylinder walls.
I prefer to have the item picked up, but I can put it in a bag and strap it to pallet for free. Shipping will be determined after the auction and is the responsibility of the winning bidder.
