    Description

    I have a
    fresh
315ci Dodge Hemi engine for sale.
It was built by noted early Hemi expert Tim DuPont of Golden, Colorado.  This engine was intended specifically for a 1957 Dodge Power Wagon project. Unfortunately, the project was sold off before the engine was finished, as such it is now looking for a new home.
The plan was to start with a correct ‘57 truck poly block and build it out as a Hemi. We wanted it to be as factory-appearing as possible without getting too crazy.  We were after something with a little more power and a lot more cool factor.
We sourced a correct ’57 VT-538 truck block and built from there.  Crank was polished and NOS std/std bearings fitted.  Pistons are NOS .040” cast Silv-O-lites with chrome rings.  Heads are 1828129 truck castings which have hardened seats and were treated to new exhaust valves, springs, fresh valve job, etc.
The camshaft was reground to more aggressive solid-lifter specs, new lifters and adjustable pushrods from Hot Heads.
We sourced a factory 1735774 4bbl intake which turned out to be quite hard to find. The carburetor is a MoPar-type WCFB that was freshly rebuilt and blueprinted.
The rest of it - NOS water pump, small block fuel pump with a spacer, rebuilt oil pump, rebuilt truck distributor, new timing set, new gasket kit, etc. Of note, we also sourced a correct truck water pump housing and oil pan/pickup, both of which also turned out to be pretty tough-to-find.
The engine was properly broken in on a stand; it idles great with a very nice lump and revs-out aggressively as can be seen and heard in the video by clicking
    HERE.
This would be a perfect attention-getting, functional powerplant for any ’53-’58 Dodge truck project, a '57-'58 Power Wagon especially so.

Local pickup is in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. I can also handle crating and freight if you like. I can't get quotes for everyone... Pro crating is 0. Freight is usually 5-0 depending on where you're at. I do require insurance on engines sent via freight... ask me why.
