    Description

    This is an AMBER hand blown figural ham hock or turkey leg whiskey nipper flask from the 1880s or 1890s... It has no embossing but is shaped like a ham hock with flat spot on bottom so it lays down just fine....Hand blown in mold...ground threaded lip with original metal lid....amber glass....6"long... .....Excellent shiny nice condition with only one small shallow chip on side of ground lip; no other damage. A nice clean bottle with no haze. These novelty figural whiskey flasks of the 1885-1905 period came in all shapes....guns, potatoes, fish,ear of corn, pigs, cigars,etc. Saloon owners would purchase the empty bottles from glasshouses and fill the bottles with whiskey. These would then be given away to favorite customers at Christmas, birthdays and special events.
